However, it gained mixed reviews from critics, but audiences were positive on the other hand.  According to Rotten Tomatoes, the critics gave it a 48% Tomatometer, and audiences gave it an 86% Popcornmeter.  From a critical standpoint, the humor was well-done, but there were so many creativ...

Copyright © A24, Ley Line Entertainment, Secret Engine, Monoceros Media, Square Peg, The Royal Budapest Film Co Title : Death of a Unicorn Director : Alex Scharfman Release Date : March 28, 2025      A24 is well known for their bittersweet dramas and bloody horrors, but their quirky comedies, like  Everything Everywhere All at Once , make for a break. One of their latest releases, Death of a Unicorn , has one of the weirdest concepts yet for their prime. During its opening weekend, the film earned a disappointing $5.7 million against a $15 million budget. Even if audiences were more warm about it, critics praised the film's fun premise and strong acting, but hated the tonal inconsistencies and the potential. Although it may not stand as the year’s best horror film, "Death of a Unicorn" is an entertaining ride filled with unicorn mishaps! Summary    "A weekend retreat has deadly consequences when a father and daughter accidentally hit and kill a unico...

When a film with a cheap budget succeeds so well in the public, it gives the question on how they even did that. This movie would be a good example of the pack. For today's revisit, we will be discussing  Paddington , the live-action film based on the books by Michael Bond. With a budget of a cheap €38.5 million (approximately $50.37), it grossed an astounding $318.7 million worldwide. The movie gained praise from both critics and audiences.   Copyright © Netflix, Skybound Entertainment, AGBO, Double Dream Title : The Electric State Director : Anthony and Joe Russo Based on : The Electric State by Simon Stålenhag Release Date : March 14, 2025     They finally did it. Netflix made their most expensive movie ever, if not one of the most expensive movies of all time. Did the Russo brothers make good direction this time without the involvement of Marvel? This movie is called The Electric State , Netflix's astoundingly expensive movie based on the book of the same name. Even after their successes with Squid Game and Stranger Things , the movie gained negative reviews from critics, but also mixed reviews from audiences. Its hate had to do with the cost, just like other expensive movies in recent years, like Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Snow White (2024) . On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie holds a Tomatometer of 15%, while holding a Popcornmeter of 70%. Its IMDb score is 5.9/10 from both sides together. Final...

Then, Nickelodeon pulled out a new spinoff announced for Plankton, which also got entirely leaked on X/Twitter, until it got picked up by Netflix a year to today. For this first review of the year, we will talk about Plankton: The Movie , the second character spinoff movie to SpongeBob SquarePants . Instead of Sandy Cheeks, this spinoff will now focus on Plankton, the villain who tried to steal the formula for 25 years straight. It got positive reviews from critics and audiences for being a step-up from the Sandy Cheeks movie. Rotten Tomatoes has the movie at 77% for critics and 71% for audiences. There is also an IMDb score of 5.4/10. Then, ...

Copyright © Walt Disney, Pixar Animation   What a crazy year it was for movies! From blockbuster hits like Inside Out 2 to unexpected box office flops like Joker: Folie á Deux , this year shaped up with its records for the 2020s decade. This year, I reviewed 38 movies in total, with 23 of them being 2024 movies and the remaining 15 being revisits of movies before 2024. Let's count which movies from this blog are the best of 2024! 10) Ultraman: Rising (Netflix) Copyright © Netflix, Netflix Animation, Industrial Light & Magic    Okay, we know Netflix does not have much of a good film category this year. This springs about when they are compared to last year when they had The Monkey King which was a surprising #1 of that year. However, they are still delivering some movies that can go on the list. This movie is a great starter for newbies who want to get into the Ultraman franchise. Industrial Light & Magic did a spectacular job animating this to look li...
